ROCHESTER, N.Y.

ACM Global Central Laboratory, a diagnostic central laboratory delivering high-quality testing services that optimize clinical trial outcomes, today announced the appointment of Peng Zhang, MD, PhD, as Laboratory Manager at its newly opened lab facility in Shanghai. In this role, Dr. Zhang is responsible for managing and leading routine aspects of ACM Shanghai and all staff in the department. Dr. Zhang’s roles and responsibilities include ensuring the department meets internal and external Quality Assurance and Control standards, overseeing the correct and safe use of all laboratory equipment, and monitoring financial information in conjunction with the Director of Operations, Singapore and Shanghai, Chiew Yan Lee, PhD.

Dr. Zhang received her MD degrees in Clinical Medicine and Clinical Pathology, as well her PhD in Clinical Pathology, from Second Military Medical University, Shanghai. She has also served as a lecturer at the university’s department of Clinical Pathology, teaching Laboratory Diagnosis to undergraduate students for seven years. Prior to joining ACM Global, she gained experience as a central lab manager at ADICON Clinical Laboratory where she managed contracted projects, including logistics, IT, and lab support.

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Zhang leading ACM Shanghai, ensuring that our newest facility adheres to the same standards of operational and scientific expertise we maintain throughout all ACM Global laboratories,” said Jerry Boxall, managing director, ACM Europe and Asia. “In addition to her extensive educational and professional background, Dr. Zhang’s expertise is further backed by her local experience within Shanghai and familiarity with regulatory requirements, regional logistics, and customs.”

The addition of ACM owned and operated laboratories in Shanghai and Singapore is the latest in a series of growth-driven investments made by ACM Global, which in November 2012 moved its European laboratory operations into a new, purpose-built, and expanded facility in York, England. Since 1994, ACM Global has provided central laboratory testing services to more than 2,300 clinical studies, involving more than 7,000 investigator sites in 60 countries, giving the company a broad range of global experience and an in-depth understanding of regional requirements.
