LONDON

Technavio, a tech-focused research firm, has published a new report on the water purifier market in India, which is expected to grow at a CAGR of more than 23% from 2015-2019.

According to the latest report by Technavio, the growing concerns about waterborne diseases has tremendously led to increased demand for water purifiers in India, especially during the monsoon season. Almost 75% of the Indian rural population staying in rural areas do not have access to clean and safe drinking water.

“Waterborne diseases constitute about 78% of the total diseases in India, and it is also the most common cause of death. This has raised general awareness, which subsequently increases the demand for water purifiers,” says Faisal Ghaus, Vice President of Technavio.

The report also discusses the demand for offline water purifiers, which can operate without electricity. This innovation is beneficial to the consumers in the rural areas, as they not have access to basic amenities like safe drinking water and electricity.

“Offline water purifiers remove bacteria and viruses from water, thus making it safe for drinking. These purifiers are affordable as well, and have a huge growth potential in the rural areas of India,” adds Ghaus.

Technavio currently has more than 3000 market research reports on a huge range of topics, including:
