FRANKLIN, Tenn.

UL EHS Sustainability, the industry’s leading provider of workplace health, safety, and sustainability solutions, is among the invited speakers at the second China-U.S. Occupational Health Symposium from July 12-13 in Guangzhou, China. The event, hosted by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) and the National Center for International Cooperation in Work Safety, SAWS (NCICS), will gather an elite group of health and safety leaders from multinational organizations and Chinese institutions to discuss pressing issues in occupational health and safety, best practices for messaging and reporting, and concerns specific to the Chinese market.

“China has been undergoing a period of dynamic economic growth, unparalleled in the world,” said Mark Ward, vice president and general manager of UL EHS Sustainability. “As the country continues to diversify its economy, expand its workforce, and drive global economics, health in the workplace will continue to be a pressing topic. This symposium brings together leading voices in the international and Chinese business community to share best practices, drill down on emerging areas of concern, and explore how a consistent occupational health program can increase productivity and profitability.”

The roundtable marks an important step in broadening UL’s global health and safety message and further realizing UL’s mission of working for a safer world.

“UL has been a leader in global science safety for more than 120 years, keeping products and workers safe throughout the world,” said Boris Feng, vice president and managing director of UL Greater China. “China’s unique business environment provides an opportunity for Chinese professionals to explore best practices and learn more about special challenges in their specific market. We look forward to building these relationships and learning more about how we can collaborate to keep Chinese workers safe and healthy.”
