Nominees Sought for the Inaugural D.L. Shah Trust / ASSE Safety India Awards

CHICAGO

Committed to advancing the safety profession in India, American Society of Safety Engineers and D.L. Shah Trust announce the creation of the D.L. Shah Trust / ASSE Safety India Awards Program, intended to recognize the excellence and commitment of safety professionals in the fields of: occupational safety and health, environmental protection and sustainability.

The inaugural presentation of these three awards will take place at SAFETY INDIA 2015, a two-day professional development conference and exposition in Mumbai, India on October 15-16, 2015.

“ASSE is very pleased to partner with the D.L. Shah Trust to create this award in D.L. Shah’s name,” said ASSE President Michael Belcher. “D.L. Shah was a towering figure in helping to establish India as a manufacturing powerhouse. He recognized that quality, safety and the protection of the environment were paramount in achieving his dream of making “Made in India” respected all over the world.”

To be eligible for this award, nominees must be employed full time as a safety professional in India, submit a resume, a petition demonstrating outstanding contributions in one of the three fields such as occupational safety and health, environmental protection and sustainability and include an endorsement from an immediate supervisor or client.
