PASADENA, Calif.

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it received the 2013 Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Performance Excellence Award from the Singapore Workplace Safety & Health Council (WSHC) and the Singapore Ministry of Manpower (MOM). This is the fourth year that Jacobs has been honored with the prestigious award, in recognition of consistent performance in safety and health by Jacobs in Singapore.

The WSH Excellence Award recognizes companies and organizations that implement sound safety and health management systems and achieve top performance in these areas. The award is the highest level of safety recognition in Singapore, and Jacobs is the only engineering and construction contractor to receive it for 2013. Worldwide, in 2012 Jacobs achieved the best safety performance in the company’s 65-year history. The company’s Zero Accident award-winning project sites and offices have collectively worked nearly 117 million consecutive safe hours.

Jacobs Group Vice President Tom Quinn stated, “We are proud to have our world-class safety performance recognized by the Government of Singapore. Our focus on safety permeates all aspects of our business. Achieving this award reflects our commitment to health and safety, our culture of caring, and our goal to inspire our employees to take this mindset beyond the workplace to influence every part of their lives and communities.”

The WSH Council comprises leaders from the major industry sectors, the government, unions and other professions. The Council works closely with the Ministry of Manpower and these groups of stakeholders to develop strategies to raise WSH standards in Singapore.

Jacobs is one of the world’s largest and most diverse providers of technical, professional, and construction services.
