SYDNEY

During its inaugural visit to Australia this September, the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) will launch the Business Mission Australia 2016.

Developed in partnership with the Embassy of Brazil to Australia and the Consulate General of Brazil in Sydney, in conjunction with the Australia Brazil Business Council (AuBrBC), a series of events will take place from 6-8 September, including business roundtables, seminars, meetings and visits between Brazilian companies and Australian buyers.

Business Mission Australia is a follow up of events held in Australia last year to celebrate 70 years of diplomatic relations between Brazil and Australia. The successful series culminated in a unique Bossa Nova and Capoeira night at Sydney Opera House.

“Our economic and trade bilateral relations have been gaining momentum and traction at an impressive speed, having, during the last 12 months, been very important and productive. The conditions are there for this relationship to reach a new level in coming months and years to the benefit of our two nations”, said Consul-General of Brazil and Ambassador ranking, Carlos de Abreu.

Business Mission Australia aims to continue strengthening the bond between the Southern Hemisphere’s two largest economies and building its international competitive reputation by encouraging new business opportunities and support for existing Brazilian businesses in participating sectors – specifically food and beverages, machinery and equipment, building and construction, hygiene and cosmetics, fashion, technology and health.

“This is a very healthy economic relationship based upon increasing direct investments, education and technology exchange, and tourism in the two directions, a clear win-win situation”, said Carlos de Abreu.

The Australia Brazil Business Council (AuBrBC) aspires to promote the relationship between Australia and Brazil. Its activities are focused on supporting mutual business interests by providing a platform to facilitate trade and investment opportunities. The AuBrBC’s working agenda includes contacts with authorities from both governments, periodic meetings with Brazilian and Australian private and public sector enterprises, roundtables, thematic seminars, mechanisms for sharing business experiences and the dissemination of important business research.

The AuBrBC leadership works in a highly cooperative, collaborative and transparent manner to define their activities according to the interests of members and in a very close, proactive way with both Australian and Brazilian governments.
