BLOOMINGTON, Ind.
A recent study by Breda et al shows that the Flexor® Parallel™ Rapid Release™ Ureteral Access Sheath (UAS) provides physicians an option to use one wire guide for treatment and diagnostic purposes during flexible ureteroscopy (fURS) procedures. The study confirmed that when the Flexor® Parallel™ is used for fURS procedures, a single wire guide can serve as both the safety and working wire.1
Other authors have reported that ureteral access sheath use in patients amenable to the procedure has been shown to decrease intraluminal pressure during fURS and permit drainage and elimination of dust and stone fragments, which may decrease operative time and costs.2-4
