CALGARY, Alberta

Calgary Scientific Inc., a company known for creating transformative technology for the medical industry and beyond, announced today that ResolutionMD® medical imaging software has received certification from the Medical Device Control Office (MDCO) within the Department of Health in Hong Kong for diagnosis using both web and mobile devices for all imaging modalities*. This certification enables medical practitioners to take advantage of the benefits of quick, secure mobile access to images as they can now retrieve data from a range of image storage systems from any location.

Obtaining certification from the MDCO means healthcare organizations in Hong Kong can feel confident using ResolutionMD®, the world’s leading enterprise image-viewing solution, to perform clinical diagnosis using web, iOS or Android devices. The MDCO certificate follows the FDA Class II clearance in the US, CFDA certification in China, PDMA certification in Japan, CE marking in Europe, TGA certificate in Australia and Health Canada license. This achievement succeeds the opening of Calgary Scientific’s Asian Headquarters in Hong Kong last year.

“Obtaining this MDCO certificate is another significant milestone for Calgary Scientific,” said Pierre Lemire, President and CTO of Calgary Scientific. “We are seeing great demand for ResolutionMD® throughout Asia as the adoption of mobile devices continues to grow at a significant pace. I am very pleased that our partners in Hong Kong will now be able to offer a fully accredited web and mobile solution to their healthcare customers.”
