CALGARY, Alberta

Calgary Scientific Inc., a company known for creating transformative technology for the medical industry and beyond, announced today that ResolutionMD® medical imaging software has received Class II certification from the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) in Japan for diagnosis using both web and mobile devices for all imaging modalities*. This certification enables medical practitioners to take advantage of the benefits of quick, mobile access to images as they can now access a range of image storage systems and diagnostic tool sets from any location.

Obtaining the certificate from the PMDA means healthcare organizations in Japan can feel confident using ResolutionMD®, the world’s leading enterprise image-viewing solution, to perform a clinical diagnosis using web, iOS or Android devices. The PMDA certificate follows the FDA Class II clearance in the US, CFDA certification in China, CE marking in Europe, TGA certificate in Australia and Health Canada license.

“Obtaining this PMDA certificate is another significant milestone for Calgary Scientific as we continue to expand globally,” said Pierre Lemire, President and CTO of Calgary Scientific. “I am pleased that ResolutionMD can now be used in Japan, enabling practitioners to make faster, more informed treatment decisions in their pursuit to deliver a new standard of patient care.”
