JDA Software Group, Inc., today announced that Pai-ang Medical Company has partnered with JDA on the successful implementation of JDA® Warehouse Management at its facilities in Xi’an, China, this project was locally implemented by JDA’s partner Prolog Integrated Technology, Inc. Pai-ang Medical Company is a subsidiary of Shaanxi Pharmaceutical Holding Group, a large state-owned company. Pai-ang’s business model is focused on storing, shipping and delivering a large medication product range to diverse customers.
With an aggressive expansion project under way at its facilities in the Xi’an International Trade and Logistics Center, Pai-ang needed a technology solution that would support the speed and accuracy of its logistics operations to deliver superior service, while also providing the scalability to support continuing growth. Because many of its products have special storage and handling requirements — such as the need for low-temperature conditions — Pai-ang’s warehousing and logistics needs are complex.
“When looking for a software partner, we were very impressed by JDA’s strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, as well as its history of successful customer implementations,” said Wang Hui, CIO at Pai-ang Medical Company. “In addition, during this project, we have leveraged JDA’s powerful network of global resources, as well as Prolog’s understanding and experience in the China local market, to support rapid software implementations here in China, and around the world.”
Since going live with JDA Warehouse Management System earlier this year, Pai-ang has improved the accuracy and pace of logistics activities across its facilities, leading to higher levels of customer satisfaction. In particular, the accuracy of its inventory management has significantly increased, according to Wang Hui. “Because of our great product diversity, and the special handling needs of many of our products, effective inventory management has always been a challenge for Pai-ang,” Wang Hui noted. “Since our JDA implementation we have a much better grasp on inventory management — which will lead to faster cycle times and lower inventory investments.”
Wang Hui also noted that the scalability of JDA Warehouse Management System is a critical asset as Pai-ang moves forward. “As we continue to build new facilities and expand our product range, the requirements on our JDA solution will only increase,” Wang Hui said. “We’re confident that JDA Warehouse Management will continue to provide us with the speed, accuracy and flexibility we need, no matter how many products and locations it is managing in the future.”
