Recently, the number of the patients who have Aortic valve stenosis has significantly increased. It occurs in both children and adult, most often found in men aged between 30 and 60. In most cases, the surgery to replace or repair valve is necessary. Without an aortic valve replacement (AVR), 50 percent of patients will not survive more than an average of two years after the onset of symptoms. Therefore, Phyathai 2 International Hospital use the new hybrid operating theater, the first one in Thailand, that is equipped with advanced medical imaging devices such as fixed C-Arms, CT scanners and MRI scanners. These complex imaging devices enable minimally-invasive surgery for Aortic valve stenosis treatment. A minimally invasive procedure has many benefits in term of less pain, blood loss, and reduced risk of infection. The length of hospital stay is also shorter.
