For Days Co., Ltd. has established an incorporated non-profit organization named “The Association for Nepal Synapse Self-Reliance Support in Japan”, and has been deploying a self-reliance support project for women under a five year plan. As a result of the on-site research, a conclusion was reached that self-reliance by women to be absolutely necessary for departure from poverty. And we realized a sustainable “cyclical economy support project” in Nepal by assuring a means for “cash income”. We established a model case for the CSR activities. By creating a business opportunity and awakening independent consciousness of the local people, the project is attracting a major attention from other regions as well.

Accomplishments during the last five years
   - creation of business opportunity -
Sarangkot village in Nepal enjoys a magnificent view of Mt. Machapuchare, also known as “Fish Tail Mountain” which belongs to Mt. Annapurna Himal. In this area, famous as a tourist spot, people have been suffering from poverty being unable to effectively exploit this rich tourism resource as a means to make a living. In order to aim for higher school attendance under such environment, it was learned that the effective way was for women, who are mothers, to become independent in living by acquiring a skill. As a part of the support activities, this NPO organization established “Sarangkot For Days Work Training Center” to train women for them to acquire skill. At SF Work Training Center, a course to learn handcraft manufacturing skill was established for self-reliance support of women, and a souvenir shop was opened where their products would be sold. Furthermore, a restaurant was co-located with the shop at an adjacent scenic place for attracting customers, which turned out to be profitable.

From Sarangkot village to the peripheral areas of Nepal
   - establishment of a profitable business -
The fact that a series of business model, from vocational training to manufacturing, sales and realization of profit, were built and established also created a favorable cycle of people working positively by their own will. Now the project is attracting attention not only in the village of Sarangkot but by the peripheral areas, and it is highly reputed as a model case which made the self-reliance support project a success. Through this self-reliance support project, a sustainable and profitable model of “cyclic economy support” is established.

In order to clear the problems and misunderstanding found in the conventional distribution named “network business” (Multi-Level Marketing), we established a distribution system where order booking, delivery and money collection is done directly between all the members (users of our products) and For Days. As of March 2014, we have members exceeding 290 thousand with the sales amount of 36.9 billion yen. Our sales amount has been continuously increasing for the last 14 business years. We are the driving force of the health food and cosmetic market as a leading company of nucleic acid nutrient.
