SAN CARLOS, Calif.
NuGEN Technologies, Inc., a market leader in the development of RNA and DNA sample preparation solutions for genomic analysis, today announced the launch of the Mondrian SP+ System. The new Mondrian SP+ Workstation extends the functionality of the previously popular Mondrian SP Workstation through the incorporation of Peltier heating and cooling into the digital microfluidic platform. This enables seamless integration of library enrichment in fully automated workflows. The expanded menu of protocols will include ultralow input DNA and RNA-seq library preparation in addition to fully integrated RNA-seq library preparation incorporating strand selection. To fully enable the new system, NuGEN has introduced a range of optimized reagent kits for the methods as well as a convenient upgrade option for current Mondrian SP Workstation users.
“The ability to integrate enrichment as part of the automated sample preparation process is a feature many of our customers have requested. We are pleased to be able to provide this solution, which improves laboratory efficiencies and simplifies the management of complex NGS workflows”, commented Alan Dance, VP of Marketing. “The library enrichment feature eliminates user intervention once the samples and reagents are loaded onto the instrument. The broad range of methods available further enhances the flexibility of the system.”
The Mondrian SP+ System will be featured in the NuGEN suite at the 2013 Advances in Genome Biology & Technology. “NuGEN is pleased to be a Bronze Sponsor at AGBT again this year”, said Elizabeth Hutt, CEO of NuGEN. “This conference is a forum for the latest advances in NGS and the ideal venue for us to showcase our innovative core technologies with emphasis on sample preparation solutions for clinical research.” NuGEN will be announcing additional new product launches at AGBT, including ultralow input directional bisulfite sequencing library kits and whole blood RNA-seq systems incorporating innovative methods for targeted depletion of rRNA and globin transcripts.
