SAN FRANCISCO

Brain Resource, Inc., a developer of innovative tools to improve brain health, announced today that it has experienced significant growth after opening its headquarters in San Francisco a year ago. Reflecting the growing awareness of brain health, Brain Resource advanced the development of its products and increased its user base by approximately 70 percent. With more than 500,000 users, its games have been played nearly 3.5 million times, and 60 percent of its users are engaging in brain training on Brain Resource’s mobile applications offered through its MyBrainSolutions product lines.

“The importance of brain health is rapidly gaining industry-wide recognition, especially how it impacts overall wellness, including greater cognitive flexibility, problem solving and stress management skills,” said Gregory Bayer, Ph.D., CEO of Brain Resource, Inc. “We are delighted to see such strong growth as users are engaging in our products to know and train their brain for peak performance. We have delivered profitable growth in this emerging market and our market opportunity continues to increase.”

Brain Resource translates new findings about the brain into engaging products for consumers, employers and clinicians to improve cognition and brain function. Its MyBrainSolutions is a scientifically designed online brain health solution that identifies an individual’s brain profile and recommends training games, exercises and interactive videos to help optimize brain health, reduce stress and increase productivity.

During the past year Brain Resource has built a solid platform for continued success, including:

New Customers and Growing Partnerships Focused on Corporate Wellness: Brain Resource continued to penetrate into the corporate wellness market, which is predicted to grow in the United States to $3 billion within the next five years. Currently, MyBrainSolutions is being offered to nine U.S. corporate and wellness programs, covering more than 200,000 employees. Over the past year, Brain Resource has partnered with Aetna, Keas and St. Gregory Treatment Center, enabling the company to potentially reach approximately 37 million members and patients.

New Products and Innovative Technology: Brain Resource recently launched an attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) management tool for families. Through research and analysis, Brain Resource found that regular use of computer-based skill building programs can improve attention and crucial reasoning skills in children and saw the need for a non-medicated tool to manage ADHD symptoms. Its MyBrainSolutions for Parents and companion site for children, PoweringUp, enables families to work together to improve skills needed for the classroom, the playground, at home and in life. A key feature of the site is a scientifically validated assessment and report that provides a better understanding of their child’s strengths and relative limitations associated with ADHD. Based on the assessment results, parents can develop a tailored brain training plan on the companion site, PoweringUp, which includes skill building brain games to enhance attention, concentration and memory.

Research Advancement: Brain Resource is leading an international landmark study in personalized medicine to identify objective tests to predict treatment response for depression. Depression is the leading cause of disability in the U.S. and is one of its most costly illnesses. Current medication selection relies on a trial and error approach. The International Study to Predict Optimized Treatment (iSPOT) will determine if there is an effective way to match patients to specific antidepressants that is best suited for a particular individual. Additionally, Brain Resource recently met with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is on track to being the first company to lodge a depression treatment test with the agency.

Brain Resource will be exhibiting at the Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder 24th Annual International Conference this week in San Francisco. It will be located at booth #217 and will provide demonstrations of MyBrainSolutions.com/Parent and PoweringUp.com.
